About our speakers

Luz Parrondo: PhD in Economics, Finance and Management awarded by Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). As a researcher, she specializes in the study of financial management with particular focus on earnings management, risk management, corporate social responsibility, and technology. She is a finance Professor at UPF Barcelona School of Management. She is associate professor at Universidad Pompeu Fabra, has been lecturer at Toulouse Business School and IES Abroad and since 2015, coordinates the professional journal RCD. As a professional, she has worked as Financial Controller and as a Financial Manager in several SMEs in Barcelona. She is currently a freelancing as financial consultant for SMEs.

Manuel Machado: Master in International Business by ESCP Europe and Supply Change Management by UPC. As a specialist in Digital Transformation, he is currently assessing how Blockchain can combine with other technologies to help people and organizations take full advantages of a digitized physical world.  He is particularly interested in digital identity, IoT, omni-channel customer experience  and Blockchain business cases/governance. He works at Worldline, the digital business and payment services subsidiary of the Atos group, where he is the Single Point of Contact for Blockchain initiatives for the digital transformation global division. He is also an advisor to tech-based startups.
